The Product Owner (PO) is an important role in the agile working environment within Barco. The PO is a professional responsible for setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by a scrum team in order to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the product.

As PO, you will gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinates sprints. You should be able to identify user needs, help a customer and internal stakeholders understand a business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.

You will need to feel comfortable managing upwards towards the Product Management and Marketing Teams as well as the VP Business owners on one hand. One the other side you need to be effective towards the technical scrum team and scrum master.

Your effort is important for the company as you will need to deliver product not just according to users, but the product that helps make our company vision reality.

Role and Responsibilities:

Product Owner Part

• Serve as the voice of the client.

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to analyze the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.

• Owns the product roadmap execution.

• Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the Agile SW development team.

• Solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.

• Draft key objectives and results, strategies and apply the data for the product to make business decisions.

• Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.

• Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.

• Responsible for the created product(s), delivering in the product model and communicating the product needs with business partners.

• Asses value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.

• Help the stakeholders understand the business model, value and value proposition.

• Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.

• Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.

• Develop appropriately detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams.

• Work closely with product management and senior management in order to create a product that fits the company portfolio.

• Increase an understanding of Agile practices, Lean Startup, new technologies opportunities and other new trends.

Senior SW Development Part

  • You are passionate and experienced in Agile Development. You have not just experienced in the core embedded architecture and development (Drivers, Encoding, Decoding, Image processing and Device management) but also have knowledge and actual work done on the further ecosystem (applications, framework close to platforms, especially on Security aspects).
  • analyses, designs, implements and tests user stories, architectural and improvement tasks that add value to the product.
  • You will work together with the other people in the global development team
  • You are co-responsible for creating high quality, releasable product increments in line with the definition of done.
  • You continuously look to improve the team’s way of working in retrospectives, both in technical and non-technical aspects, in line with the software vision.
  • You are instrumental to guide, steer or advise other colleagues by your knowledge in the domain of your expertise
  • As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you use your creativity and diverse range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems.
  • Develop new features and contribute to new idea (and patent) generation for products in the Clickshare portfolio.
  • Participate in design, implementation and code review with the global development team across Taiwan, Belgium and Germany and India.
  • Lead by example, design, implementation and testing of embedded software features.

Qualifications

  • B.S., B.B.A., B.E. , MBA, M.S. or similar equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years plus experience working with English-speaking stakeholders.
  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in computer science related fields.
  • Would be a plus :
  • Agile PMI-ACP, SAFe, LeSS or Scrum Master certification
  • Strong knowledge of C++ and familiar with embedded system programming.
  • Gstreamer, Qt, Buildroot or Codeigniter
  • DevOps tools (such like git, Jenkins, or svn)
  • Experience in networking or wireless technologies
  • Experience in developing accessible technologies

• SW Project Management or Product Management with a strong background in actual SW Development is preferred
