Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, a related Engineering or Science field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of packaging experience.
  • Experience with packaging materials used in consumer packaging and working both in the office and at manufacturing sites.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in management or leadership role.
  • Experience working within a cross-functional environment.
  • Understanding of product fragility, cosmetic protection, manufacturing processes, and various materials.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It’s your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

In this role, you will work in people management and as an individual contributor, supporting the development and validation of packaging solutions, working closely with the team in Mountain View team and with vendors and manufacturers throughout Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Packaging Implementation Engineers, coaching, developing, managing performance of team members to create a highly effective team.
  • Estimate and assign resources for supporting the development and validation of Google packaging. Prepare and manage annual resource needs.
  • Support product builds, both preparation and attending. Ensure proper training and skill levels for team members in relevant systems and processes.
  • Create psychological trust, dependability, structural clarity. Ensure meaningful goals are aligned in the organization and within the team.
  • Drive impactful change, and build strong networks and working relationships with cross-functional teams. Travel to sites throughout Asia and occasional travel to the US, as required.
