Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of the contract are executed correctly, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
  • Promote the company’s image and foster professional relationships within the team to encourage future business opportunities.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all customer, professional team, and supplier communications and documentation.
  • Attend all crucial client, professional team, supplier, and installer meetings.
  • Participate in all significant offsite and on-site events, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), deliveries, on-site tests, Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and Integrated Systems Tests (ISTs).
  • Prepare all supplier purchase orders and variations.
  • Compile quotes for all customer variations and amendments to the original order.
  • Maintain rigorous technical, contractual, and commercial control of the customer contract and all supplier contracts at all times.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to ensure effective and timely communication of all information.
  • Keep precise records for project financial and management control.
  • Generate all customer payment applications and draft sales invoices promptly.
  • Ensure the project maintains the best possible positive cash-flow.
  • Manage and oversee all suppliers to ensure exemplary performance.
  • Organize and conduct pre-commissioning project briefings.
  • Manage and oversee all project-related Health & Safety, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance matters.
  • Create and distribute all necessary Project Programs (Gantt Charts), Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Test documentation.
  • Coordinate, control, and manage all on-site permit-to-work and other safe systems of work.
  • Manage and oversee all company and supplier resources to ensure the achievement of all project milestones.
  • Organize and execute the handover process to the After-Sales department.
  • Manage the resolution of all minor defects and snags with both the client and suppliers.
  • Address and handle all warranty issues with both the client and suppliers.
  • Ensure the completion of all necessary contract documentation.
  • Reach agreement on final accounts with the customer and suppliers.
  • Obtain the final certificates of completion and certificates of making good defects.
  • Finalize all invoicing and manage the debt collection process.
  • Assist the Sales Department by creating AutoCAD drawings and offering guidance on work sequencing, programming, and method statements.
  • Participate in installation and project management meetings with clients.
  • Contribute to meetings during the inquiry stage with suppliers and installers.

Requirements

  • Project Manager with a Chartered Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • 5+ years of experience in the electrical installation or contracting industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical switchgear, distribution systems, and diesel generation equipment and installations.
  • Strong technical, commercial, and contractual communication skills, backed by relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in various software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, Visio, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent logical reasoning abilities, organizational skills, professional demeanor, and the capability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Possession of a full driving license, a passport, and willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage stress effectively.
  • Strong, outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills to handle diverse customer types at all levels of seniority.
  • Fluent in English.
