• Master’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field.
• 5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following domain: Embedded Systems, Networking, Video Encoding, Audio Processing, Protocol Buffers, WebRTC, Operating Systems, etc.

The Google Nest Platform software team builds smart devices, such as Smart Displays, Smart Speakers, Cameras, Chromecast, and Mesh WiFi Routers. We combine the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create helpful experiences for users. As part of this team, you will research, design, and develop technologies and hardware to make our user’s interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software on Google Nest Camera devices.
• Lead designs of software components, systems, and features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional cloud and mobile application teams.
• Manage individual projects’ priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
