About the Role

Site based role in Taiwan at Jacket fabrication facility. Leading a site based team, representing the Employer (Hai Long) to ensure the safe delivery, to required quality standards and in accordance with programme requirements.

This role requires pro-active and direct engagement with fabricator’s workforce from Senior Management Level, to shop floor personnel in a collaborative approach to ensure successful delivery .

Engagement with Hai Long Foundations Package Management Team, reporting directly into FOU Supply Package Manager.

The Jacket Fabrication Manager is responsible for overall delivery and directly accountable, for all activities including HSE, Quality, Planning, Cost Control and Variation Management.

The role requires particular emphasis in recognition of dealing with local cultures and is to be one of working together with the fabricator in an open and constructive dialogue on the basis of a “one team” approach.

This is a “hands-on” role requiring flexibility in the assigned tasks with some level of autonomy.

The work involves the fabrication of substantial three-legged steel jackets of a size and weight that is beyond that previously manufactured by either fabricator and will therefore bring some considerable challenges, particularly for the local fabricator within Taiwan.

It is likely that, in the initial stages of project there will be a requirement to also mange Pin Pile Manufacture, based at an alternative fabrication facility, until such time as additional resources are engaged.

The candidate requires a positive and “can do” attitude and able to articulate and manage fabrication delivery in an organised and professional manner.

  • Overall responsibility for project delivery of jacket fabrication at assigned location

  • Good understanding of all aspects of jacket manufacture – HSE, Quality, Planning
  • Engagement with Fabricator’s workforce at all levels

  • Qualifications & Key Skills

  • Candidate should have previous experience in Offshore Wind Farm Jacket Fabrication in a similar role.
  • Candidates who do not have experience of having directly managed major steel fabrication projects, based at site, will not be considered.
  • Willing to re-locate to either Korea or Taiwan for project duration.
  • Experience with direct fabrication on site of complex steel structures with regard to fabrication, HSE, Quality, Painting and Loadout.
  • Experience of having worked with different cultures and an understanding of how these are managed.
  • Qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Quality are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken.
  • Culturally aware with a high level of emotional intelligence to work effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingual candidates speaking either Korean or Chinese would be an advantage, but not essential, as the business language is English
