The Position: What you will be doing:

The HID Global, Extended Access Technologies Business Area: Head of Sales, APAC will be responsible for managing the business development and sales across all of the EAT technology units throughout the APAC region. Accountable for the revenue results for the Biometric Portfolio (Crossmatch: Commercial & Public and Lumidigm) as well as for RFID (Embedded and Desktop), the regional head will also be expected as required to work in collaboration with the Access-IS BU to generate further sales of Access-IS products across the APAC region. This role will report directly to the VP Sales: Extended Access Technologies Business Area and will have responsibility for all resources to develop sales across the region within the BA while working in a matrix organization together with the technology BUs and other key functions.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of the region and together with the team will deliver and maximize the full potential of the opportunities in the region. Key success criteria include having strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset, proven commercial acumen and a keen focus on team efficiency and sales pipeline build out and execution. The effective candidate will possess the executive presence needed to motivate and influence others ensuring that actions are undertaken and growth is achieved.

The Head of Sales will have a strong, resume-qualified background identifying, developing and closing new accounts throughout APAC with a focus on embedded technologies, products and solutions for secure identity across a range of vertical markets from finance to enterprise , healthcare and government. Desired candidate will have extensive experience developing business plans and managing a team to exceed sales targets through pipeline growth via end-user engagement and channel development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience selling RFID and/or biometric products and managing a team.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop, communicate and manage to a clear business development & sales plan that includes clear growth objectives for all product lines across the APAC market.
  • Manage an effective sales team assuming responsibility for yearly, quarterly and monthly sales projections and revenue results.
  • Understand the go to market needs of the business at a regional level and ensure that the region is represented across the BUs and the functions.
  • Develop and foster relationships with key regional partners and end-user accounts.
  • Provide regular sales activity and account updates to management through direct reporting and CRM Tools.
  • Keep abreast of any new developments or competitive information that may enhance the growth initiatives for HID Extended Access Technologies BA.
  • Take a “hands-on” approach and support the sales team in closing major deals and developing strategic accounts.
  • Provide accurate yearly, quarterly and monthly sales projections and deliver consistent achievement to quota
  • Establish proper sales ecosystem to support EAT products within the region.
  • Drive sales working directly with key end user customers.
  • Collaborate with Business Area Marcom to create effective marketing to maximize exposure and lead generation for EAT offerings within the region.
  • Explore and analyze market trends and identify new opportunities throughout APAC.
  • Build organization strength through the development and hiring of talent at all levels of the sales organization.
  • Create positive working environment, train and mentor staff and motivate all team members to perform efficiently and to facilitate career growth.
  • Motivate and maintain a high morale performance-driven culture.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and lead a regional sales organization that generates successful organic growth.

  • Relevant and direct experience with all major markets in APAC.
  • Good reasoning ability to investigate and analyze information and draw relevant conclusions.

  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and being able to deal with complexity and ambiguity.
  • Good listening skills and ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations.
  • Proven ability to make effective and collaborative business decisions.
  • Demonstrated effective communication including written and presentation skills.


Education And/or Experience
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in a business or technical field.
  • 12 years of demonstrated relevant regional experience in business development and sales with a proven record of accomplishment in achieving multi-million dollar revenue targets and strategic growth goals.
  • 8 years’ experience selling biometric products, semiconductor, RFID technologies and/or card credential technologies.
  • Significant experience using CRM to develop, manage and forecast pipeline opportunities.
  • Proven sales team management skills at a regional level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of market and competitive environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic business plans.
  • Strong technical aptitude and able to convey and understand technical concepts.


Language Skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in additional APAC relevant languages a plus.
  • Ability to present information to management and public groups as a “speaker”.


Computer Skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Travel and fieldwork, up to 50%, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
