- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Experience with consumer product development processes for product design, system validation, or manufacturing
- Experience in SoC (System on a Chip) architecture
- Familiar with Linux environment
- Experience with design for debug/test/manufacture (DFx) systems
- Experience with mobile system level SoC validation including I/O (Input/Output) interface, memory and storage interface, power management IC, and modem/display/camera/audio/sensors SoC subsystem
- Experience collaborating with SoC and subsystem module teams on feature definition, bring-up, characterization, system stress test, etc.
- Experience implementing test script automation (e.g., Python, Labview, or JavaScript, etc.) and building infrastructure, organizing lab and factory test data into a presentable format, etc.

Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google’s services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.
With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.
As a Hardware System Validation Engineer, you will collaborate with Hardware/Software engineers to improve pixel phone validation coverage and efficiency. You will manage the pixel system design methodology improvement for future Google products based on our findings.
Our team is responsible for Pixel phone quality, especially the test coverage improvement. We define test items and detect issues in the project development stage. We also develop auto-test tools to reduce redundant processes to improve test efficiency and conduct data analysis/collection, organize the information, and make it accessible and useful.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop lab validation process plans, guide Test Engineers on executing validation flow, and report production failure efficiently.
- Design test flow to validate SoC Platform (e.g., AP, PMIC, Memory, etc.), PCB and FATP functionality, and system power and performance such as a system stability test and high/low speed peripheral bus validation.
- Create an auto test tool to speed up the validation process, improve test efficiency, and meet the validation schedule.
