As a member of the AWS Support team you will be at the forefront of this transformational technology, assisting a global list of companies and developers that are taking advantage of a growing set of services and features to run their mission-critical applications. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will act as the ‘Cloud Ambassador’ across all the cloud products, arming our customers with required tools & tactics to get the most out of their Product and Support investment.

  • Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the developer community.
  • Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services

Basic Qualifications
  • To qualify for this role, you should have the following experience:
  • Basic Linux/Unix system administrator skills
  • Must be familiar with any of the following skills: Hadoop, MapReduce, HDFS, YARN, Spark, Hive, Kafka, Presto, HBase
  • Knowledge of Hadoop architecture and administration and support
  • Basic programming/scripting skills. Ideally in Java or Python, but will consider experience in other Object Oriented and Functional languages
  • Be able to read java code, and basic coding/scripting ability in Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP
  • Understanding of networking principles and ability to troubleshoot (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP)
  • Foundational knowledge of databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Understanding of Virtualization and/or cloud computing
  • Good understanding of security best practices
  • Exceptional customer focus / Customer service experience
  • Good understanding of distributed computing environments and methodologies
  • Ability to work a staggered week, either Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat (no on-call)
  • Intermediate oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
Preferred Qualifications
  • These qualifications are optional, but please highlight them on your resume if you have them:
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in either technical support or software development
  • Demonstrable Knowledge & experience in various Big Data or distributed systems. Such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto NoSQL
  • Experience with Cloud Services and Cloud deployments
  • Exposure specifically to AWS a bonus
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
