Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of industry experience with testing of OTA technologies and measurement systems.
  • Experience with cellular systems feature bring-up, including bug reporting and resolution, validation, and regression testing.
  • Experience with chipset specific logging and debugging tools.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Understanding of wireless communication standards (L1/L2/L3) and implementation (e.g., 5GNR, LTE, 802.11ax, 802.11ac, etc.).
  • Experience in LTE/5GNR.
  • Experience with Cellular lab callbox and base stations.
  • Ability to develop detailed test plans and execute evaluation/debugging/root causing.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

As a Cellular Test Engineer, you will be directly involved in cross-functional team engagement, to achieve and validate the best RF and OTA performance. Working closely with design engineers, you’ll give input on designs to improve our hardware to ensure it meets Google’s standards of quality and reliability. Involvement will begin at the product prototyping and continue through mass production.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Modem Systems, Antenna, RF, Software teams, bring-up, validate, and test complex cellular system features.
  • Develop test plans, test, and support cabled and OTA tests.
  • Manage and setup antenna system test equipment.
  • Execute equipment and chamber calibration, maintenance, and repair.
  • Identify and recommend creative ways to leverage and/or enhance existing practices.
