Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Material Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in reliability engineering or in camera lens/module design.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science or related fields.
  • Experience of working with lens and module suppliers.
  • Experience on other key module/component reliability (e.g. display, audio).
  • Knowledge of typical camera module failure modes, mechanisms and characterization techniques.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

About The Job

As a Camera Module Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in creating new consumer electronic products that meet a high bar for reliability and performance. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, and then supervise test execution and failure analysis. A broad engineering background and command of statistical methods will help to inform design of new products. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations.

As a Hardware Module Reliability Engineer you will work closely with development teams to ensure robust and reliable Camera Optics/Module design and ship the highest quality products for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define Camera module release (Rel) test metrics to effectively identify high-risk failure modes early enough in the design life cycle to ensure robust camera integration.
  • Manage camera lens/module reliability programs/suppliers, including test spec development, oversee test execution, data reporting, reliability risk assessment and implementation.
  • Ensure good module Rel test coverage and failure modes correlation with system Rel requirement as well as field usage conditions.
  • Development of new test methodology and reliability spec justification to account for user interactions with new/advanced technologies.
  • Maintain an exceptional level of excellence in data integrity, failure analysis, and root cause communication.
