We at Brewer Science, Inc., a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor and microelectronics markets, are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic candidate to fill an open position as an Asia Sourcing located in Taiwan.

Summary/Responsibilities

Secures new material and product sources through the exploration, evaluation, and selection of robust suppliers to enable the successful implementation of those materials into new products and devices. Knowing Japanese, Chinese, and English languages and cultures will prove to be of value as this person will be the liaison between suppliers and Brewer Science, Inc. Identifying suppliers in the Asian market who specialize in purification and product customization for the micro-electronics industry is a key component of this scope, in addition to having a deep understanding of chemicals, custom purifications, and chemical pricing. .

Responsibilities

• Expand raw material supply chain further into Asian market and develop our own partnerships. Identify Asian suppliers for all key raw materials inside our supply chain
• Identify suppliers in the Asian market who specialize in purification and product customization for the micro-electronics industry.
• Learn the technology, understand our customer requirements, learn how to use our systems and applications to help drive raw material improvements.
• Understand the GHS requirements and Asian logistics to get raw materials to America in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Deep understanding of chemicals, purifications, pricing, and characterization of chemicals
• Interact with different groups or teams throughout the company acting as the liaison between the supplier and Brewer Science, Inc.
• Sourcing chemicals, bottles, filters, wafers
• Arranging materials to be shipped correctly to the United States
• Initiate NDA’s improve process and procedures, work on supplier scorecards, work closely with Materials Management Team on BCP FMEA’s, PCS Reviews, Change Controls, and non conformances
• Work with purchasing to ensure smooth hand off’s between purchasing and sourcing in the development process
• Apply proactive, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating and resolving issues around procuring new materials
• Evaluate supplier’s capability to meet required design, quality and material specifications.
• Negotiates specifications for new materials with the supplier to assure material quality and consistency
  

Credentials And Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science, Engineering Management, or Chemistry preferred
• 5 years experience in sourcing required
• Chemical Industry experience preferred
