[Role Purpose]

Manage business across structured products, equities, fixed income, FX and money market in Taiwan, responsible for driving the business success, revenue targets and risk control efficiencies.

Lead the team of Capital Market to provide world-class products, direct client advisory service and reliable trade execution for clients across GPB, Premier and Personal Banking in Taiwan, and extend support to RM, IC and WCT on trade ideas, advices and execution as well as client services.

Drive product specialists to identify business opportunities, formulate and assess product ideas, provide insights on client trends and market intelligence, so as to help RMs developing strategies for client growth and retention. Represent Investment and Wealth Solution (IWS) to work with other lines of business to identify collaboration opportunities.

[Job Content]

• Investment revenue: responsible for the investment revenues on structured products, equities, fixed income, FX and money market in Taiwan.
• Staff management and leadership: manage a team of 11 staffs in Taiwan, responsible for driving team success, work ethics, team stability, high standard of up-to-date investment ideas, as well as desk policy and process.
• Product offerings: responsible for facilitating and governing end-to-end process on product development, governance and trade execution, including but not limited to trading idea generation, research and recommendations, driving business cases for potential new product launches, benchmarking against market competition, trade counterparty selection, and related controls.
• This would involve close collaboration with RM, IC, Credit, Operations (Ops) and 2nd Line of Defense (2LOD) including RC, Legal, Suitability and Chief Risk Officer.
• Client segment continuum: ensure fit-for-purpose product offering and process are provided to different client segments from High Net Worth (HNW), Premier to Personal banking.
• Product advisory to RM and IC: responsible for the development and oversight of an effective ecosystem where product specialists advise RM and Investment Consultant (IC) on trade ideas, run marketing campaigns and receive timely feedback from RM and IC.
• Client activities: responsible for the supporting RM and IC on client engagement activities.
• Collaborate on marketing with RM, including attendance at key internal and external client/industry events and conferences.
• Risk management: work in close collaboration with 2LOD on the design, implementation and review of risk control measures such as suitability formulas, execution error protocol, execution spread control.
• Strategic projects: represent business to spearhead transformational projects including strategic initiatives and platform enhancement work.
• Regional alignment: engage in regular dialogue with regional colleagues to share the wealth experience of Taiwan and look for alignment on product initiatives and governance framework.
• Cross LoB collaboration: represent IWS and ensure regular dialogue with other lines of business including MSS to identify collaboration opportunities.
• Manage and set team direction on product offerings, client services, risk management and platform development.
• Close collaboration with other teams within WPB including RM, IC, Credit, Ops and 2LOD.
• Interlock with other teams including RM, IC, Credit, Ops and 2LOD to look for improvements on product, platform, procedure, effectiveness and risk controls.
• The role holder will adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal control requirements. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where required by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including any issues raised by regulators.

• A bachelor or graduate degree is required
• In-depth knowledge of all assets classes and products
• Profound understanding in wealth management business and processes
• Strong risk awareness and experience in managing and controlling risks
• Extensive investment experience
• Solid management experience
• Excellent communication, presentation and people skills
• Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills
• High proficiency in both English and Chinese
• Exhibit strong leadership management skills
• Strategic thinking, good business acumen and strong risk mindset
• Strong ability to credibly interact with senior management
• Excellent communication skill including ability to present complex financial concepts and strategies as well as English ability
