Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose Of The Position

Provides the Division with commercial and manufacturing operating plans. Develops capacity plans and inventory strategy. Leads/Manages the Sales and Operating Plan (S&OP) process. Serves as a subject matter expert for planning, inventory management, and ERP system use, in support of the planning, inventory management and scheduling process.

Day To Day Responsibilities

• Develops and utilizes capacity models.
• Develops capacity and/or tactical operating plans.
• Interfaces with key customers.
• Participates in demand/allocation management process.
• Analyzes data (demand/capacity inventory) to make capacity recommendations to leadership team and highlight any shortcomings.
• Generates monthly capacity and weekly supply plans for manufacturing and supply chain.
• Distributes plans using appropriate planning software modules.
• Monitors and reports out inventory levels both weekly (tactical) and monthly (capacity).
• Develops and maintains capacity planning tools to create accurate capacity models.
• Interacts with engineering, development and commercial in development of capacity model and subsequent planning.
• Provides detailed analysis as requested for various areas of the supply chain.
• Provides expertise in manufacturing capabilities and inventory tracking systems.
• Facilitates all phases of the monthly S&OP process and meetings for balancing supply and demand.
• Maintains appropriate safety stock levels, derived using proper supply chain analytics, and monitors performance to these targets.
• Measures and reports key service measures to the division.
• Serves as subject matter expert on Supply Chain ERP, planning processes and planning applications.
• Consolidate the capacity planning with scenarios simulation to drive the requirement planning of equipment and manpower.
  

Required

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Technical, Business or Supply Chain).
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing or product line management/forecasting.
• Experience in analytical role.
• Prior experience with scheduling and planning in plant or division.
• Competent with IT tools.

• Master’s in Business or Supply Chain Management.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
• Certified Production & Inventory Manager (CPIM).
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
• LEAN or Six Sigma Certification or equivalent experience
