Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience developing supply chains in manufacturing and testing.
  • 2 years of experience in people management.
  • Experience developing technical relationships with contract manufacturers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as SQL, Python or similar.
  • Experience in system, functional, and board level testing.
  • Experience creating and executing design validation test plans on a complex electronic assembly.
  • Knowledge of Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) devices, fabrication processes, Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) tests, Design For Excellence (DFX), quality, and reliability.
  • Ability to drive root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous process improvements working with cross functional teams, contract manufacturers and suppliers.

About The Job

As a Product Engineering Manager, you will lead a Product Engineering team to evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures. You will ensure manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You will collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google infrastructure needs and product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a team responsible for performing the Product Engineering function for Google Platform products. Define team strategy and roadmap, and drive adoption cross-functionally.
  • Develop quarterly objectives for the team, align roadmap and overall departmental goals. Assess and manage team performance through regular staff meetings, one on ones and quarterly assessments.
  • Lead reviews between Design and Operations Engineering to drive deliverables that are key to implementing the manufacturing plan, Design for Excellence (DFX) and test strategy.
  • Lead the technology assessment for new products. Work with the Product team to highlight risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure the product meets our specifications.
  • Partner with Quality Engineers to establish product quality and reliability goals. Validate product qualification plans, support reliability testing and review results to ensure product performance meets requirements.
