World Central Kitchen, Inc. (WCK) seeks a talented and committed Procurement and Logistics Manager,who possesses demonstrated compassion and empathy, to actively lead and support the regional procurement and logistics units during activations, usually directly while in the field; oversee and lead all regional inventory and purchasing personnel and systems; and develop, support, and implement longer-term strategic objectives to achieve successful feeding operations in disaster zones. Part of a very agile and highly motivated team, the successful candidate must possess a high level of organization and flexibility, thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, and dynamic environment, and provide a broad range of critical support, including while in the field.

This role will report to the regional Senior Manager and work in strong collaboration with the regional Culinary Operations Manager and Distribution Operations Manager. This role requires a sincere commitment to WCK’s mission, the ability to travel immediately to relief activities, mostly in the Asia Region and often for extended periods, and flexibility for cultural, language, and time zone differences.

This position must be based in the Asia Region within one hour of a major international airport and requires the current authorization to travel broadly within the region to support our relief operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, as needed, within eight hours, to a Disaster Area/Emergency Response
  • Recruit, train, and lead staff, contractors, and volunteers including from local communities
  • Manage all regional inventory and purchasing systems and operations
  • Ensure teams are fully trained and adhere to site operations and safety guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for operational efficiency and financial controls
  • Develop, support, and implement regional and international planning and objectives
  • Remotely support and coordinate tasks, activities, planning, and operations as needed
  • Maintain required certifications such as ServSafe Food Safety, CPR, and Forklift Operator
  • Operate and thrive in stressful, fast-paced situations with positivity, patience, and display compassion for those in crisis.

Requirements
  • 5 years of management experience with the demonstrated ability to develop and lead purchasing and logistics teams
  • Recent management experience with field kitchen purchasing, operations, and equipment including WASH, LPG/propane, waste management and remote power generation
  • Recent experience in international customs clearance functions
  • Previous experience in relief operations in the field
  • Fluency in English and at least a second language, written and spoken
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural communication and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurial skills in challenging untraditional environments
  • Proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, IMS, and GIS or related programs
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, quickly, and on short notice for extended periods of time
  • Ability for extended physical exertion during an activation
  • Demonstrated proficiency operating manual transmission vehicles including heavier vehicles
  • Current relevant passport and driver’s license

Preferred candidates will also have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field from an internationally recognized university; advanced language skills in Arabic, Tagalog, Hindi, or Urdu; current work authorization in their country of residence; and experience in high-volume catering.

Preferred candidates will currently reside in: Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei City, or Manila
