As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It’s your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a Materials Program Manager at Google, you will plan requirements with a large cross-functional team and follow these requirements through execution across the project’s lifecycle once it goes to mass production. This includes managing schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating status updates to key stakeholders. Your projects will span time zones and you will keep everyone coordinated while ensuring seamless delivery on every requirement.

As an expert in the areas of material planning and operations management, you will be responsible for the strategic and tactical elements of creating and executing fulfillment plans that support program requirements. You will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to develop plans that directly support consumer hardware.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth product transitions, and be the primary material liaison with vendors and internal teams for product bring-up and launch. Identify supply chain risks and mitigation steps to ensure material readiness once a product goes into mass production and through End-of-Life (EOL).
• Communicate status, risks, and influence change. Drive initiatives and process improvements to help the team become more scalable. Represent the materials organization in internal program meetings.
• Maintain budget records and provide a high level of Customer Service for internal customers. Source, evaluate, and recommend potential suppliers and support cost reduction programs.
• Follow up on open purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate with internal customers to resolve receiving and accounts payable discrepancies.
• Drive material readiness for mass production builds in a balanced and sustained fashion.
