STMicroelectronics (Malta) Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Material Planner within the Supply Chain Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Translating Product Demand to Materials Demand using advanced DD-MRP (Demand Driver Material Requirements Planning) tools
  • Analyzing, quantifying, computing and releasing a 12-month material forecast for a specific set of direct material class to various suppliers
  • Analyzing past trends, taking necessary actions and developing simulations to improve forecasts
  • Closing the loop with the Planning Department regarding changes in the Demand Trend and translating them into actions to suppliers
  • Analyzing responses from suppliers, production and the Division and react to ensure on-time delivery
  • Defining safety stock levels for the different part numbers and implementing in the system
  • Running the MRP tool weekly, or more frequently if required, and closing the loop with other parties within the site, typically the Planning and Manufacturing Departments
  • Creating Purchase Requests and following up on shipments to guarantee the desired stock levels
  • Maintaining Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) levels within target and simulating/detecting in advance any possible issues
  • Analyzing the material SKU in the Warehouse to derive future Write Offs, in liaison with the Finance Department
  • Controlling and challenging the third party logistics support network of Hubs based in Malta

Profile

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate shall:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Management or any field related to the role
  • Be very comfortable working with mathematical and forecasting models
  • Have a minimum of 2 years working experience
  • Have a good understanding of a manufacturing/production environment
  • Have a planning mindset to simulate the effects of changes in cycle time, yield and quantity and is able to understand the related implications
  • Have good communication skills and is able to question and build a strong argument
  • Be able to communicate at different levels, including with management based in Europe and Asia
  • Be proficient in the use of Excel
  • Understand the MRP logic

Knowledge of the SAP software would be considered an asset.
