Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience using tools such as Valor and Allegro to perform DFx
  • Experience with PCB processes and failure analysis.
  • Experience with development of PCBA manufacturing processes including acceptance testing, startup and qualification


Preferred qualifications:
  • MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience with a Product Data Management Tool (PDM) e.g. SAP, Agile, Windchill.
  • Knowledge in eCAD processes including schematic capture, PCB layout and footprint/symbol creation.
  • Familiar with SMT and box build manufacturing processes
  • Strong leadership with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of innovative manufacturing processes solutions and capabilities including industry first process definition, startup and qualification.
  • Develop manufacturing documentations (Bill of Materials, Assembly Drawings, Manufacturing Work Instructions, etc.) in support of New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Establish, deliver and maintain the manufacturing and quality processes and standards for Google’s new technologies, leveraging existing tools and processes as required.
  • Support PCB commodity team in PCB suppliers selection, audit and qualification.
  • Lead in PCB qualification, work with design team and PCB suppliers in PCB DFM and Stackup, ensure suppliers adhere to PCB fabrication specification.
