About HTC VIVE

HTC VIVE is a team dedicated to the R&D of XR products. Founded in 2014, the team has launched a number of products and has a leading market share and technology in the XR field.

The team focuses on the R&D of computer vision and tracking systems. The main research directions include:

• SLAM-based tracking with quality exceeding that of self-driving cars
• Tracking of objects such as controllers and peripheral devices
• Tracking of hand, face, and full-body poses
• 3D construction and understanding of the environment

The team has been in operation for 9 years and has launched a number of products. In terms of software, hardware, and algorithms, the team has achieved technical independence and accumulated a wealth of R&D capabilities.

• In 2020, the team created the first self-developed tracking system for helmets and controllers after four years of basic development in VIVE Cosmos.
• VIVE Focus 3, launched in 2021, is a milestone for HTC in the VR field. The team pushed the performance of helmet and controller tracking to the world’s top level, and at the same time launched the first gesture tracking system.
• In early 2022, Wrist Tracker was the world’s first VR peripheral tracking product.
• In 2023, VIVE XR Elite was launched with a lightweight design, extending from VR to AR and MR.

About Your Next Opportunity

This position will collaborate with the software/hardware engineering team to design the hardware and software architecture of computer vision and tracking systems, including software, electronics, photonics, microelectromechanical systems, and mechanics.
