With an expanding product line encompassing tower, rack, blade, and scalable systems, HPE is looking for talent that can play a critical role in defining and delivering solutions to its customers.As a firmware engineer at HPE, you will architect, design, develop, debug, and maintain firmware to provide innovative products and solutions to our customers, evaluate and design industry standards and new technologies, and help define and shape new industry leading products. The position requires developing specifications, creating release schedules and requirements documents, and working with internal and external teams to track progress against schedules and milestones.The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in software, firmware, and hardware. The candidate should be interested in low-level code development and be interested in embedded systems. The successful candidate must be team-oriented, be innovative, possess a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, be quality conscious, and have excellent communication and technical skills. The ability to work as part of a team to deliver innovative firmware projects is essential to success in this position.The position offers the qualified candidate the opportunity to work in an exciting, high profile, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment. The position includes working with the latest in hardware and software technology and provides excellent opportunities to gain a wide breadth of experience.Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Experience And Knowledge

• 10+ year experience in UEFI firmware development
• Programming skills in C and Assembly Language
• Strong firmware, software, and hardware background
• Experience with embedded systems development
• Knowledge of computer architecture
• Knowledge of industry standards including IPMI, USB, ACPI, SMBIOS, and PCI/PCI-express
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python

• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• Excellent code documentation and commenting skills
• Excellent debug and troubleshooting skills
• Strong firmware architect capabilities
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
