Software Test Engineer - Desktop

[GPU Validation & Debug Engineer - Power & Performance testing]

Responsibilities:

• Validate GPU designs at system & component level (50%)

Generate solid test plan & automated flows, run the test, update status, generate reports in a timely manner.

• Debug issues (40%)

Repro & triage issues, file issues w/ accurate debug info. & log files to respective team and cooperate w/ them to debug and drive issue closure.

• Setup lab units & equipment and manage lab assets (10%)

• Ensure all units & equipment are well set up or managed and w/ up-to-date status in the lab asset tracker.
• Work w/ suppliers & internal teams on resolving issues
• Interact w/ multiple teams inside & outside of client
• To work w/ client’s Graphics Project Teams in Canada, India, Taiwan and HCLTech’s Delivery Teams in Canada, India.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in CS, EE, Mathematics, or Engineering related
• 1-3 years of exp. on PC FW/SW validation & debug exp. is a MUST, with GPU exp. is a plus (i.e. driver validation).
• Strong debugging & validation skills and exp.
• Hands on developing automation testw/ Linux, Python, JavaScript, Database, Power BI, or C++.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office & Windows OS.
• Strong knowledge on computer architecture, graphics HW, FW & SW,and memory sub-systems.
• Hands-on HW Test exp. in Windows system (powerrelated), such as ACPI, PCIe and Monitor display. With Windows and desktop GPU test exp. is a plus.

• Exp. w/ Lab equipment i.e. supplies/ oscilloscopes/ multimeters/ power supplies/ etc.
• Exp. w/ Windows drivers, OS, error logs, setting up/ configuring programs or exp. w/ Linux OSand Windows command line.
• Graphics cards or mobile discrete graphics systems.
• Computer enthusiasts and excellent knowledge of current leading PC technology.
• Familiar w/ PC x86 architecture and excellent system level knowledge incl.: CPU processor, multimedia, memory, PCIe, display technologies, power management, 3D graphics.
• Exp. in building your own PC and computer HW

Others:

• Excellent communication skills (speaking& writing) in both Mandarin & English.
• Problem solving skills & ability to collaborate w/ different teams proactively and effectively.
• Must demonstrate initiative & ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Positive & responsible, good communication & interaction, teamwork thinking is preferred.

• Exp. applying analytical thinking & problem-solving skills

• Can work independently (e.g. create test plan, schedule test, manage tasks to complete on time, etc.)

• Can adapt to fast pace environment
• Working permit & Mandarin ability are required w/ foreigner
