POSITION SUMMARY

Purpose

This construction manager shall have experience in both project & construction job role to controls the progress & quality of assigned project, ensures that the construction work is carried out under the premise of safety, and completes the construction within the required time. This job position will develop construction package, manage project cost and progress, supervise the field construction and commissioning team and then handover to operation team owner.

Nature and Scope

This is a short-term (1.5 years) manpower requirement. During the period of plant construction, He (She) must participate in the planning of the previous architectural/civil design of the Annan plant. Responsible for supervising and arranging the work of all construction contractors of the assigned project after the start of construction, and ensuring that the construction and material quality of the plant meet the requirements of the architect/civil design, and ensure contractor’s compliance to both local regulations and Air Products Safety Standards.

Overall accountabilities to make sure the site construction meets project defined safety, quality, schedule and cost target.

Principal Accountabilities

• Leading the site construction & safety engineers making sure the site safety is well managed and controlled all the time.
• Manage the field construction work executing by the construction contractors during the construction period and during the commissioning/start-up period
• Monitor and ensure contractor’s compliance to Safety Standards
• Report to the project manager of any potential safety hazards and unsafe conditions before construction starts on a project
• Monitor the work of construction contractor and make sure the quality of workmanship and materials meet contract requirements.
• Assessing and forecasting workload and skills demands on a site basis to secure the planned schedule
• Review and agree to the schedules and manning levels with the contractors and review update progress during the weekly meetings.
• Arrange for testing and witnessing all different testing of civil & MEI systems and maintain a log as indicated in the Construction Quality Audits, or project quality plan.
• Maintain weekly reports
• Keep an organized filing system in the field office.
• Maintain a complete and up-to-date set of drawings and ensure the contractor has up-to-date quality control documents. Make sure that all documents, memos, correspondence, etc., indicate the project number and identification.
• Conduct a weekly on-site construction meeting with the assigned contractors and their subcontractors.
  

Job Requirements

• Good sense of control project cost & schedule and construction safety & quality
• > 5 year experience in project & construction management
• Safety certificate will be a plus
• Good people management and coordination skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
