As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments for Process Automation Business Area in Taipei City, Kaohsiung and Taichung, Taiwan. Reporting to the Hub PG Manager (SAVP)_Sales, you will coordinate and oversee team development and standardized process development to continually improve effectiveness of project execution teams.

Your responsibilities

• Leading implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the local or regional project operation under the guidance of the Global Project Operations Manager
• Ensuring that the regional/ local portfolio of projects is managed consistently, based on best practices and ABB Policies
• Leading and overseeing the project execution teams locally/regionally, ensuring that ABB Policies are consistently followed. Developing, customizing and continuously improving standard processes and work instructions by adopting ABB and external best practices
• Participating in the budgeting process, jointly with Local Division Manager and Controller
• Supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfilment and approving any project deviations
• Ensuring the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures, and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers
• Ensuring that projects consistently apply contract and claims management, in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements
• Building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Serving as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues within the project execution team
  
  

Your background

• 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas or Power Generation industry with five years of experience in service and commissioning and in the field of project management & engineering respectively
• Sound knowledge in Automation
• Basic finance knowledge and commercial aspects of business
• Experience with Projects of different size, complexity and contractual types
• Extensive experience managing PM & Engineering teams including identifying, mentoring and development of team members
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done and knows how to organize people and activities
