JOB OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of new products and manufacturing processes for golf balls at off-shore manufacturing locations. Works closely with the internal engineering and quality teams, developing and motivating in-house technical staff, while collaborating with third-party technical and operations teams. Has direct supervisory responsibility of process engineers and technicians. Responsible for material, product, process and cost improvements, product commercialization, process engineering, and maintaining technical data and documentation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Product/process development for all new and modified golf balls

· Optimization of existing products and manufacturing processes

· Collaborate with third party manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams on key projects and improvements

· Support operations gross margin initiatives via productivity improvements, process improvements, new materials, and impactful cost savings programs

· Responsible for supporting and maintaining product specifications, bills of material, and manufacturing instructions

· Works with outside suppliers for material development and qualification

· Conducts process capability studies

· Conduct vendor supplier audits

· Liaison between Callaway engineering/manufacturing teams and third-party technical/quality/manufacturing teams

· Develop new manufacturing processes

· Support quality initiatives and defect reduction via best practices and SPC methodology

· Support CI/Lean initiatives via active participation and applied practices

· Comply with safety policies and procedures where applicable

· Maintain documentation related to new product development, production pilots, manufacturing processes, legal

· Acts in a supervisory role overseeing Process Engineers and Engineering Technicians to include coaching, training, mentoring, performance reviews and disciplinary action when required

· Works towards improvements for process efficiencies

· Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes

· Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

· Proficient in MS Office products, MS Project, statistical analysis programs

· Knowledge of materials, compression/injection molding/painting, and/or lean manufacturing methodologies a plus

· Fluency in English reading, writing, and verbal communication required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· University Degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences

· Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience

· The employee may be intermittently exposed to fumes or airborne particles

· The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.

· The employee will utilize office equipment considered to be normal such as printers, laptops and tablets as examples.
