Molex is seeking a dynamic and proactive sales Account Manager to join our highly visible team in Taiwan to support one of our top global high-tech datacom accounts while working for one of the top interconnect solutions in the world. As an Account Manager, you will manage assigned business units within this account with the primary objective of growing profitable Molex revenue within it by creating new demands and seeking out existing business.
Position Overview
As an Account Manager for this high-profile account, you will manage assigned business units within this account with the primary objective of growing profitable Molex revenue within it by creating new demands and seeking out existing business. This position carries a high degree of autonomy and will be the primary interface between our customer and Molex. You will have the responsibility for educating this important customer on the value Molex brings to their business. Along with being the primary point of contact with all levels of the client’s organization supporting select business units, you will also interface with their ODMs/EMS partners, many internal Molex roles in support of this customer including other members of the Global Sales & Marketing team, Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, Pricing and Finance.
This high priority account has multiple sites both domestically and abroad so it would also be the Account Manager’s responsibility to maintain tight communications with the assigned global account team, peers, and business units.
Such responsibility will often require remote meetings/conference calls at nights in order to conduct conversations with teammates and product management teams overseas.
Essential Functions
- Find desirable profitable revenue opportunities and present to Business Units for necessary support.
- The Account Manager will also be expected to show a strong, steady pipeline of demand creation activities to fuel continuous account growth.
- Become an expert in understanding this customer’s individual strategic business plans for each applicable business unit.
- Ongoing development of personal expertise is critical to success in this role.
- Develop and maintain new engineering relationships in all of your assigned business units, and continually develop technical product skills to effectively sell a wide breadth of Molex offerings.
- Sales skills that demonstrate the ability to successfully negotiate and close a sales call.
- Strong organization skills to anticipate, plan, organize and monitor workload.
- Leadership skills that demonstrate the ability to take charge, initiate actions, make sound decisions and direct others toward the accomplishment of goals.
- Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to build rapport with both internal and external contacts.
- Good knowledge of the interconnect industry, server market, competitors’ strategies, and plans.
- Ability to operate independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in a sales or account Manager role within the electronics or interconnect industry.
