Your role

Are you collaborative, think outside the box and challenging of the status quo? We are looking for an operation officer to:

• be responsible for the oversight of local governance framework and continue to implement alignment with the global/ regional structure
• act as the local lead to work with Business Risk Manager to implement and enhance (if appropriate) the risk management oversight
• chair the local Front to Back (F2B) committee to add value to the F2B process, challenge as appropriate and ensure the quality, content and value add of F2B reporting is in line with global/ regional standard
• support country head in strategy execution and local staff engagement activities
• ensure a consistent data model and consistency of management reporting from legal entity levels up to regional and global governance levels
• follow up regional or drive local projects to ensure the timeline and outputs are in line with expectation
• act as the first line of defense and coordinate with Group and Control Functions to ensure local practices comply with group policies, law and local regulations
• support the whole company’s staff engagement, event planning, and community affairs
• build effective and collaborative cross departmental relationship to enable timely and quality deliverables and proactively help drive the business forward
  
  

Your team
UBS Asset Management is a large-scale asset manager with diversified businesses across investment capabilities, regions and distribution channels. It offers investment capabilities and styles across all major traditional and alternative asset classes including equities, fixed income, currencies, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure and private equity.

To support the daily business execution, UBS Asset Management is looking to hire a Local Operating Officer (LOO) to help drive and coordinate business and operational activities across various teams. The LOO’s role is to support the Regional Operating Officer and the UBS Asset Management Taiwan business, in particular to define and enhance governance as appropriate, business risk management, and ensure good front to back controls. Provide insights and resolve issues that may arise in UBS Asset Management Taiwan equally help drive the strategy forward and be a partner and enabler to the business both within Taiwan, APAC and Asset management globally. The role-holder requires strong project management expertise, solid front-to-back understanding of processes and exposure in financial industry practices, systems, processes and controls.

You’ll be working in the Operating Office of UBS Asset Management Taiwan. We are a team full of energy, and well-equipped with knowledge to deal with the challenge every day.

Your expertise

• 7-10 years of business management, risk management, or project management experience
• possess asset management domain knowledge in front-to-back office functions
• preferably exposure in banking or asset management business and practices, systems, processes and controls
• understanding of global best practices in the financial industry and ability to bridge with the entire organization
• strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to multi-task with excellent follow-up and organization skills
• excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and schedule workload
• strong Project Management skills; proactive and structured with strong attention to detail
• ability to manage stakeholders and objectives with conflicting priorities across functions and businesses
• ability to partner across other functions, regions and lines of business
• able to work under pressure and cope with difficult and ambiguous scenarios.

• a good communicator who remains calm in stressful situations
