CompanyQualcomm Semiconductor LimitedJob AreaEngineering Group, Engineering Group > Sourcing & Reliability EngineeringGeneral SummaryQualcomm Technologies is seeking an experienced SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering) FE Director to join our team at Hsinchu, Taiwan.The candidate should possess semiconductor wafer process technical expertise and leadership skills to drive and influence our suppliers base toward the quality standards and expectations of Automotive industry leading customers. The candidate’s key traits include diligence, authority, integrity and accountability.Excellent English oral and written communication skills are vital to this role since the candidate will work closely with multiple stakeholders from various departments internally and suppliers across different global locations. The role requires periodic travel to suppliers and other company locations.Key responsibilities

• Administer all Automotive Wafer Foundries quality assurance activities and ensure adherence to all objectives for organization and provide training to all teams for Quality Assurance activities.
• Set quality priorities and follow up on improvement plans to monitor and achieve quality performance targets. Monitor quality performance metrics and report to top management committee.
• Develop and implementation quality assurance monitoring to ensure that products and services from suppliers meet relevant performance and quality standards according to company procedures, best industry practices, and customer expectations.
• Analyze defect trends, defect modeling and lead continuous improvement programs with suppliers.
• Serve as primary escalation point for supplier related quality issues, hereunder driving actions plans for resolution.
• Support change management processes for supplier-initiated changes
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
  
  

ORMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.ORPhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.

• 2+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports. (applies only to positions with direct reports)
  
  

Qualification and Skills

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other relevant field
• At least 10 years of wafer manufacturing experience; especially for Automotive (Electronics) is required.
• Proven in-depth expertise in wafter fabraction
• Knowledge of component/active component activities will be an advantage
• Familiar with quality standards such as IATF16949, ISO16262, VDA 6.3, and frequently-used quality tools such as DOE, APQP, PPAP, SA, SPC, FMEA, SPC, 8D & Six Sigma
• Rich experience of handling internal, external and customer quality audit from Automotive group of companies.
• Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to solve quality problems and meet customer requirements and satisfaction.
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
