Major products: Video walls, Projection, Image processing, Virtual reality systems, Wireless conferencing & collaboration, Medical displays, Digital operation room

Job Description:

FW Certification Engineer for Embedded Systems with HDMI, VESA, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi and More

Position Overview:

As a FW Certification Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems with HDMI, DisplayPort (DP)/VESA, Teams, USB, Bluetooth (BT), Wi-Fi, and other related technologies, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Your expertise in certification processes and your ability to navigate complex technical specifications will contribute to the successful launch of cutting-edge Embedded Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Certification Process Management:

• Research and stay up-to-date w/ the latest Industry standards, Regulatory guidelines, and Certification requirements related to HDMI, VESA, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi and other relevant technologies.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of Certification processes & requirements set forth by various Regulatory bodies and Standards organizations.

B. Pre-Certification Assessment:

• Collaborate w/ cross-functional teams to review design specifications, schematics, and technical documentation to identify potential issues or non-compliance w/ Certification requirements.
• Provide guidance & recommendations to Engineering teams during product development phase to ensure adherence to Certification standards.

C. Testing and Validation:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute testing procedures and validation protocols for HDMI, VESA, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi, and other Embedded technologies.
• Utilize specialized testing equipment, tools, and software to assess performance, functionality, and interoperability of Embedded Systems.

D. Issue Resolution:

• Analyze test results and identify discrepancies or non-conformities w/ Certification criteria.
• Collaborate w/ Engineers to troubleshoot issues, propose solutions, and implement necessary design changes to achieve compliance.

E. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare comprehensive documentation, test reports, and Certification-related materials for submission to Regulatory agencies and Standards bodies.
• Maintain accurate records of all testing activities and outcomes to facilitate compliance audits and reviews.

F. Regulatory Liaison:

• Establish and maintain relationships w/ Regulatory agencies, Standards organizations, and Certification bodies.
• Participate in meetings, discussions, and consultations related to Certification processes and industry trends.

G. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency enhancement within Certification workflow.
• Stay current w/ technological advancements and updates in Certification standards to ensure the organization’s Embedded Systems remain competitive and compliant.

Others:

We expect candidates are able to program, debug and fix the issues in Linux-based product. Also, candidates need to submit code and have the solution version control in Git and SVN.

Qualification:

• B.S. in EE/Computer Engineering, or Master’s degree preferred, or exp. working on display, audio, networking, wireless, accessible technology, etc.
• 3+ years of exp. in FW Validation (planning, documentation, development, execution, and debug)
• Must have software background and exp. the certification process
• Familiar w/ programming, debug and fix the issues in Linux-based product.
• Familiar w/ submitting code and have the solution version control in Git and SVN
• Exp. MS Teams/HDMI/VESA certification (higher priority) is preferred.
• Ability to fix and debug issues
• In-depth, solid understanding of Embedded Systems w/ HDMI (1.4, 2.1), VESA, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi functions
• Exp. using stress tools and benchmarks to evaluate system behavior and identify patterns and test cases that rapidly expose design flaws
• Exp. defining and performing test cases for evaluating Embedded Systems w/ HDMI (1.4, 2.1), VESA, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi conditions
• Exp. in crafting Python scripts to complete and automate tests
• Ability to identify and develop tools that can expand test coverage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to summarize/prioritize sophisticated data and present it clearly
• Able to work alone and as a team on preparing, implementing, and maintaining validation test plans and procedures
• Good practical knowledge of HDMI (1.4, 2.1), DP, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi test standards and methods, i.e. CEA-861-E, VESA
• Ability to comprehend, interpret & apply electro-technical Int’l regulatory requirements for HDMI (1.4, 2.1), VESA, Teams, USB, BT, Wi-Fi of consumer electronics
• Demonstrated Program Management & Collaboration skills
• Excellent technical documentation skills
• Strong cross-functional team skills
• Good English in writing & reading & speaking;
• Weekly meeting w/ foreign stakeholder
• Able to handle documents with patience and carefulness
