ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role is responsible for providing financial analysis & insights for the Area to ensure focus on pricing & excise strategies, resource allocation, brand and trade initiatives, competitors intelligence and to make sure marketing governance control in place

What You Will Be Accountable For

• To contribute to the development and execution of strategic planning and decision-making process of the Marketing department
• To actively contribute in meetings, activities and projects with other members of the Marketing team, for planning and review of key initiatives to achieve the Marketing strategy
• Evaluate the effectiveness/efficiency of Marketing programs & touchpoints through financial analysis to support better decision-making and resource allocation
• Drive spend efficacy and smart cost management within the Marketing team. Ensure resource allocation decisions are based on improving shareholder value and in line with company strategy.
• Ensure accounting and governance procedures for Marketing are in place and operating effectively. Identify ways to improve the current control environment & business processes and own the changes without compromising creativity and enterprising spirit
• Ensure Commercial Finance contributes as an effective business partner to Marketing. Ensure quality service/mentorship in all relevant areas of work is provided to all sections of Marketing department

Essential Experience, Skills And Knowledge

• An excellent understanding of finance combined with an appreciation of the interdependencies of business functions.
• Financial analytical skills such as ROI and NPV to perform/review financial analyses together with the capability to provide commercial insights
• Good interpersonal skills & an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff (including senior management)
• A team player and a self starter continuously looking to improve the quality of finance service whilst reducing cost and process complexity. Drive to maintain high professional standards
• A questioning and investigative nature combined with the qualities of being structured & methodical in approach.
• An ability to meet deadlines, handle time pressure and get results in complex & diverse situations.
• An ACCA or CIMA degree or local equivalent with a minimum 4 years post degree commercial experience with a multi-national corporation in a managerial capacity. An MBA would be an advantage.
• A financial background with a professional accountancy qualification.
