PEAK Wind is looking for a Deputy Operations Manager to strengthen and support our local Operations and Maintenance team for an offshore wind project in Taiwan.

Trusted Advisors for Developers and Investors for some of the Largest Renewable Assets

At PEAK Wind, we specialise in operations, asset management, and project management of renewable energy assets and take pride in providing best-in-class commercial, financial, and operational advisory and support to our clients. We work with some of the world’s largest infrastructure investments and are proud to count market-leading utilities, investment funds, and IPPs among our clients.

Role description

Based in our O&M centre, you will act as Deputy Operations Manager for O&M, in one of Taiwan’s largest offshore wind farms. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be an essential part of our Operations team, responsible for daily operations management of the wind farm, including the delivery of the operations control centre. The first year of the role will be strongly focused on take-over from the construction organization and ramping up the team for operations and establishing operational processes. Thereby you will be supporting the overall best-in-class performance of the project.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the development of a strong, positive HSE culture within the OMA functions and ensure that there is always a focus on supporting, maintaining, and improving standards of HSE related to the scope delivered to site/project
  • Support with managing onshore/offshore operations, BoP scheduled service, and maintenance, and on-site project management. This includes the management of contractors/third parties and alignment with the Contract Manager
  • Support the Senior Operations Manager with translating the annual O&M program into the day-to-day and consolidated plans/schedules to maximise synergies and cost savings
  • Support in the management of the execution of short- and long-term maintenance plans/schedules on a day-to-day basis
  • Support on delivering an OCC (Operations Control Centre) service that enables safe transit and access to the assets to perform Operations and Maintenance. The OCC is responsible for executing vessel and helicopter movements outlined in the plans and schedules for vessel tracking, people tracking, operational control under safe systems of work, and grid control
  • Create, deliver, and maintain processes for “way of working” and site management (e.g., manual for site management, OCC, jack-up operations, DPR, etc.) in coordination with the Senior Operations Manager

Experienced Operations Manager with a Proactive Attitude

We are looking for an Operations Manager with a technical, engineering, and/or operations background with at least 3 years of operational offshore wind project experience. This experience has given you a solid technical understanding of the full asset, operational and maintenance requirements, offshore logistics and a profound knowledge of operational processes in offshore wind farms. You also have ample experience working in health and safety-critical environments and ensuring the establishment of a strong HSE culture throughout the transition and operational start-up phase. You are competent when dealing with quality standards, best practice procedures, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.

If you are the ideal candidate, you have relevant experience and are excited about establishing a new organization. Bringing operational excellence in an international environment with exposure to international companies and a new market for offshore wind is what you want to do. If you can combine this with a proactive and entrepreneurial attitude and thrive in a fast-paced environment, you are the right person to “build something bigger together.” We expect you to be a good communicator, show intercultural sensitivity and have a proven ability to build sound business relationships. You will be part of a motivated team with colleagues from different disciplines and parts of the world, ensuring high-quality deliverables for our international clients.
