Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in developing hardware IP, ISP algorithms, image pipelines, consumer camera, and/or computational photography techniques.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in relevant industry developing ISP algorithms, image pipelines, consumer camera, and/or computational photography techniques.
• Experience with automatic image tuning related to development and technology.
• Experience with numerical image analysis and image metrics.
• Experience coding in C/C++/Python.
• Knowledge of machine learning or image/video processing algorithms for consumer photography or mobile applications.
  
  

About The Job

In this role, you will design excellent features and functions of image systems to make Android cameras pleasant and useful in versatile products. You will be involved in tuning strategy design, image quality evaluation and related lab/methods design, imaging algorithm/features evaluation and and related lab/methods design, and development automatic system/algorithm/method to optimize the tuning process.

This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Invent imaging pipeline blocks suitable for hardware implementations, set up required tests for validating image tuning and manage final image quality tuning of Pixel phone camera.
• Evaluate the architectural design and algorithms for digital photography, computer vision or machine intelligence scenarios, and commercialize algorithms for Google products.
• Design, define and specify computer vision and image/video processing IP. Author hardware specifications for effective and practical implementation.
• Work with System on a Chip (SOC) architecture team to understand and improve the architecture and use cases.
• Engage with different sensor and module vendors and incorporate the new technology into Google products.
