Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent battery/electrochemistry experience.
  • 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with battery management systems.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 7 years of experience with Li-ion batteries and other electrochemical technologies.
  • Experience shipping mass production Li-ion and primary batteries within product.
  • Experience in the electrochemical field or subject area.
  • Ability to design experiments and analyze data that are driven by product and business requirements.
  • Understanding of industry standard requirements for Li-ion batteries at the cell (UL 1642), pack (UL 2054), and system (CTIA/IEEE 1725/1625) levels, including compliance, certification, and transportation regulations (UN38.3/PI965/CSTCG).

As a Battery System Validation Engineer, you will support design validation of battery management systems (BMS) for consumer electronic devices. You’ll engage, work, and collaborate with cross-functional teams, leads, and stakeholders during system integration, including supplier engagements. Additionally, you will support primary battery technologies, provide complete design validation plans, evaluate the validation coverage, and deliver high quality of design validation results associated with products.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design validation of battery management systems for consumer hardware products.
  • Develop design validation plans, evaluate the test coverage, system performance, and interaction characteristics in order to align with product requirements including electrical characteristics, safety, reliability, and quality.
  • Build up battery validation infrastructure and tools to support primary cell technologies
  • Sustain existing batteries management system design validation with products in the market.
