Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a team in the provision of logistics operational management.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Manager in running and overseeing the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
  • Backup of the Operations Manager.
  • Lead the team to achieve the department’s KPI goals.
  • Ensures the highest degree of Safety and efficiency is maintained at all times.
  • Highlight through agreed communication and reporting process to Operations Manager for any irregularity and exceptions in operations.
  • Strictly follow the Safety and security incident reporting procedures.
  • Ensure warehouse and DC operations safety and security.
  • Communicates with customers on operations and service issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
  • Manage Guts ticket in relation to responsible work areas.

Safety

  • Demonstrate Safety leadership in operations ensuring Safety is first priority.
  • Implement Safety leadership programs including but not limited to Safety toolbox, meetings, Gemba audit, Safety event, and Safety observations actions etc.
  • Ensure team members SWI compliance on XPO Safety at all times.

Improvement

  • Assist the Operations Manager and Safety in implementation of work improvement projects.
  • Assist cross functional improvement projects in Safety and Operations.

Teamwork and development

  • Provide Education to team members on new company procedures, SWI and QAB.
  • Identify and implement work related training requirements for team members.
  • Conduct skills gap analysis on team development and also utilise XPO training programs.
  • To work closely with other leadership team members to ensure cross training and flexible resources across teams to meet business requirements.

Qualifications Summary

Experience:

This position requires minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Logistics and Warehouse operation with at least 3 years in supervisory position

Education:

’O’ levels or Diploma in Logistics, Engineering or Business Administration

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; specifically documentation of all issues, communication with customers and transporters.
  • Excellent knowledge in Warehouse Management System (WMS) and able to generate and analyze inventory reports.
  • Good understanding Customer requirements for each account.
  • Good leadership, management, planning and problem solving skills
  • Able to use systematic approach in decision-making
  • Exhibit good judgement and understanding of issues
