Overview

Veeco is seeking a customer-focused VP, Field Service for the Asia Region inclusive of China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. This person will provide integrity-based leadership, guidance, direction, and hold accountable the Account/Product Line field service teams and associated support teams to grow Customer Trust, lead the field teams positively, continuously improve Installed Base Performance safely, meet the regions’ operational goals, and grow the Global Service Solutions (GSS) business as per the annual operating plan. This position reports directly to the VP/GM of Global Services Solutions and partners closely with country/sales leaders and is located in Taiwan or Singapore. This position requires up to 50% travel.

An optimal candidate is a proven large scale organization leader and mentor; functionally qualified; credible at the customer interface and within the regional team; balanced in terms of operational and sales/marketing capabilities; strategic and tactical in orientation; effective in organization and people development; influential; and delivers predictable results.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing the regions’ GSS Annual Operating Plan and issuing guidance to accounts/field service leaders including Business Growth Strategies, Installed Base Performance Improvement, Operational Focus Areas, Initiatives, etc.
  • Responsible for the regions’ organization audit/assessments – ensuring the regions are properly structured to deliver committed results and that key region and account GSS positions are staffed with capable individuals.
  • Responsible for the professional development of the regions’ field team inclusive of technical and soft skills as well as the adoption of knowledge management/knowledge sharing tools to enable quicker resolution of our customers’ challenges.
  • Responsible for overall Customer Management associated with effective proactive installed base performance management and improvement of Customer Trust primarily by aligning our strategic and key customers’ goals and Veeco goals and managing to success.
  • Support account teams/field service leaders and hold them accountable for the development and execution of customer specific strategies to achieve GSS business growth objectives. Partner with sales team, business development, and service leaders in selling value of GSS products to our customers.
  • Forecast, analyze and execute P&L for GSS business, address gaps to commitments and opportunities and create plans to maximize business. Partners closely with region sales leaders/account management as well as GSS business development to deliver predictable results. Communicate early and often to GSS and executive team any material changes vs forecast.
  • Partner with operations on development of manpower sizing plan and execute to meet customer commitments, install/warranty requirements, and our growth objectives.
  • Responsible for articulating to GSS corporate any new/modified GSS related offerings needed for success in the region and holding GSS accountable to respond
  • Assure compliance with Veeco policies, procedures, and safety requirements and other guiding principles.
  • Lead and develop employees and organization as well as lead by example the cultivation of a positive integrity-based culture within the organization focused on our Core Values.
Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical area and a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in field service management positions in the semiconductor industry. Large-scale organization management experience across the Asia region is required.
