• 5 years of experience in software development, hardware debug or test engineering.
• Experience working with security policy/process, servers, or network hardware.
• Experience with Python software development, programming and Linux OS.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Experience working in security and/or software development teams.
• Experience with operating system configuring and scripting.
• Experience with test tool or diagnostic development.
• Experience in testing products for manufacturing, working with partner or contract manufacturer (e.g., ODM, OEM, JDM).
  
  

About The Job

Your team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

As a Test Development Engineer, you will be responsible for providing ongoing software development support to lead cybersecurity activities with external manufacturing partners and internal Google test development teams. You will manage hardened OS images and other test station hardening features to get acquainted with the code base and speed up rollout across Contract Manufacturers sites in the APAC region. You will also drive policy such as test station restoration, rolling out images to all stations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and define the security hardening process and provide instructions to Contract Manufacturers (CMs) in the APAC region.
• Debug security issues including, CM rollout, updates, on-call for urgent production security concerns.
• Provide support for periodic hardening updates, network security, remote access.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address security issues for test stations.
