About The Job

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

• Define manufacturing process and parameters, and lead process development through design of experiments (DOEs) and process window studies. Implement controls to monitor parameters and track check-in processes.
• Document process changes and respective impact to components. Serve as the point of contact for process/quality related questions and issues.
• Lead metrology design and validation for test and inspection. Lead assessment and audit for suppliers’ capability and design for manufacturability (DFM) for the Engineering team’s needs by manufacturing and testing process set-up and validation.
• Lead yield and unified product scale improvement for the goal. Lead failure analysis for quality problem.
• Lead cosmetic and measurement correlation between supplier’s outgoing quality control and the Final Assembly Test and Pack team’s incoming quality control.
