Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering/Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture, software, algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning and power management.
  • Experience in software coding to modify and prototype algorithms (TensorFlow, TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch, C/C++).
  • Experience on activity profiling and analysis (traces from power measurement, performance monitoring counters, events, and interrupts).

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Engineering/Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture, software, algorithms, AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning), and power management.
  • Experience on power/performance optimization of Android systems.
  • Experience on SOC or/and software architectures, designs, implementations (especially, DVFS, power management, resource management, QoS, power/performance efficiency, load and latency reduction).
  • Experience on Power Management, Hardware or Software Architecture of AI accelerator, memory-path and SOC system.
  • Track record of SOC problem identification, analysis, creative solutions, and project impacts.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

Responsibilities

  • Architect highly power-efficient hardware and software for AI (artificial intelligence)/ML (machine learning) use cases.
  • Analyze the current SOC/OS/SW/use cases and identify inefficiency areas in power management.
  • Invent new architecture and feature solutions. Enhance existing software and hardware architectures and features for power/performance efficiency.
  • Simulate or prototype the new architecture and features to quantify the expected benefits.
  • Present proposals across teams and collect feedback from them. (silicon process, IP design, SOC architecture, Android OS, software, power, performance, compiler teams, AI/ML teams).
