What You Need To Know About The Job

This job is responsible for signal and power integrity design for server board and system products. The candidate of this job will be involved in project development and collaborate with cross function teams to do design assessment and optimization. The candidate will also collaborate with suppliers for stack-up design, PCB material, high-speed cable and connector selections to achieve product performance and cost competitiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborating and communicating with management, internal teams and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution of high-speed signals.
  • Working with HW/layout teams to evaluate and optimize high-speed signals PCB layout routing.
  • PCB stack-up design and optimization including impedance, insertion loss and stack-up layer count.
  • Performing comprehensive SI simulations to generate PCB layout design guideline.
  • Performing electrical constraint setting in layout tool.
  • SI validation methodology definition for high-speed signals such as PCIe, UPI, DDR4, SAS and etc.
  • Performing power integrity analysis including DC drop and AC impedance to optimize power plane and de-coupling capacitor.
  • Passive components’ electrical performance investigation, qualification and simulation model parameters library creation. Including PCB material, high-speed cable and high-speed connector.
  • Design automation tool development for constraint setting, SI validation, design review automation, layout implementation and etc.
Education And Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Typically more than 6 years experience of SI field.
Knowledge

And Skills
  • Experience on using SI and PI design tools such as ADS, Allegro, HFSS, Cadence Sigrity, Ansys and etc.
  • Experience onusing TDR, VNA, BERT and Scope.
  • Knowledge of PCB material, copper foil, PCB manufacturing process and high-speed cable.
  • Experience on Cadence SKILL language or Python language programming is a plus.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
