The Extended Access Technologies business unit is a leading provider of Identity and Access Management through embedded and software solutions to assist many customers who want to embed RFID technology or Biometric sensors into their solutions. We enable our partners to secure people, data and things through trusted identities, RFID, Bluetooth and biometric technologies. Our offerings encompass multi-factor authentication, tokens and credential lifecycle management, security clients in endpoints, and biometric solutions. All backed up by a professional services capability. Extended Access Technology has prime engineering centers in Krakow, Albuquerque and Taipei, with additional resources in Cardiff, Prague, Fremont and in many geographies to support our customers.

We’re looking for a Electrical Engineer for our Biometric products

The new position will report to the Extended Access Technologies business unit, will work closely with the Global Biometrics Engineering team and is needed to meet the business growth of HID Products worldwide. We seek an Electrical Engineer with background and understanding of electrical design for the mass productive product, along with the ability to produce quality results and contribute to assigned projects within the company.

What we are looking for:

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Working collaboratively with several HID hardware development team in the world as well as other outsource partners to survey, evaluate, design new solutions/platforms/produts.
• Involved product life phase from NPI, MP, to EOL
• Develops and supports schematics, BOM, Placement and DFx (Layout, manufacturing, testing etc.) design during product development stages and initial manufacturing.
• Collaborate with factory manufacturing, mechanical engineering, firmware, hardware verification, and many other engineering and design disciplines to optimize the overall system of the product from concept to completion in the factory.
• Conducting product analysis and cost optimization.
• Conducts design/debug investigations and support development, maintenance, failure analysis, and resolution activities.
• Develop project documentation including specifications, schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, schedules and presentations to meet requirements and communicate the electrical design and its progress using Agile and Jira.

Education And/or Experience

• BSCS/BSEE or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in circuit role within product development life cycle, MUST have experience to collaborate with ME and Firmware Engineers.
• Excellent knowledge of MCU (Non-OS) and Embedded Linux system hardware design using different MCU/SoC (ARM-Cortex M, ARM-Cortex A, 8051 base, PIC and others). Have experience on NXP i.MX platform is plus.
• Excellent knowledge of communication interfaces USB / MIPI / SPI / I2C etc.
• Experience with Schematic design / PCB layout (Protel / Altium Designer is plus)
• Familiar with hardware circuit design of electro-optical system with CMOS Image sensor (Parallel, MIPI), illumination, LEDs.
• Design to comply with EMC/EMI/FCC certification and hardware compliance requirements.
• Experience with hardware-based security is plus.
• Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Function Generator knowledge
• Practically minded with strong problem-solving skills.

Language Skills

• Ability to effectively communicate in the English and Chinese language, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.

Computer Skills

• Eletrical design EDA, OrCAD, Altuimn designer
• Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
