• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in RF design of consumer electronics.
• Experience with board design, performance optimization, factory processes and manufacturing.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience of WiFi/BT or RF design experience, board-level debug skills, and schematic creation and PCB design.
• Experience with RF design in consumer products and using common RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers.
• Knowledge of simulation tools and/or circuit simulation capability such as Advanced Design System (ADS).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, etc.), and their respective certification process.
• Knowledge of different wireless communication systems such as WiFi and Bluetooth.
  
  

About The Job

Our computational challenges are so big, complex and unique we can’t just purchase off-the-shelf hardware, we’ve got to make it ourselves. Your team designs and builds the hardware, software and networking technologies that power all of Google’s services. As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

The WiFi/BT team at Pixel has been responsible for WiFi and BT RF design of all pixel phones, and also responsible for Watch WiFi and BT RF design. Our tasks include architecture, design, simulation, performance optimization, certification, factory issue clarification, system test support, and also work with SW team, antenna team and other related teams to develop RF systems and clarify all RF issues and concerns.

We continue to develop new technologies and features in order to push technology forward and enhance product performance, such as WiFi 6E, WiFi 7 and power reduction, and continue to deliver excellent products to the market.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize wireless system, and responsible for PCB design for optimal RF performance.
• Design for volume manufacturing and support factory engineers from prototyping to product launch.
• Design and optimize to meet certification specification and carrier requirement.
• Collaborate with related teams such as antenna team and SW engineers to develop RF systems, and work with component vendors and partners to solve all concerns.
• Support to define architecture, specification, design and test boards for innovative consumer electronics devices.
