Summary

This position is to develop the technical and quality requirement of our private label programs and professional services. The Quality Engineer of the Product Team is work closely with the Sourcing Team during the RFI/RFQ process to configure the technical scope and requirements and qualifications of selected potential vendors. He/She is to ensure the technical requirements are transferred into the manufacturing of our private label parts and accessories, problem solve, trouble shoot, and develop continuous technical and process improvement throughout the project life cycle.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing team to assess the initiatives of our private label programs and professional businesses.
  • Perform Quality Assessment on potential factories based on company internal procedures.
  • Partner with internal teams to establish product specifications and company product standards in accordance with the project objectives.
  • Develop product validation (fit, form, and function) plans and work with vendors to complete product validation processes.
  • Lead internal teams, the 3rd party laboratories, and vendors and develop product testing and inspection protocols.
  • Manage test laboratories and vendors to complete end-to-end product testing processes.
  • Investigate and resolve product quality issues escalated from the field services, stores, and D.C.s.
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to investigate the root cause and minimize unwarranted defective rates.
  • Assist in developing best practices, processes, documentation, and procedures for the category assigned.
  • Initiate and execute long term product and process continuous improvement plans.
  • Travel is required throughout parts of Asia (30~35%).
Qualifications
  • Read and approve engineering drawings (include geometric tolerance) and product technical specifications.
  • Fluency in different manufacturing process (casting, forging, stamping, plastic injections, surface finish, and etc.).
  • Create and approve testing and inspection protocols for aftermarket parts and accessories.
  • Ability to collaborate and work with team members on project-based activities (time and cost constraints).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshoot relevant project matters and quality issues.
  • Capable of communicating and collaborating in an English cultural environment.
  • Ability to build in-depth technical knowledge for the product category assigned.
  • Read and write fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or relevant engineering degree.
  • Minimum five years working experiences in the following areas:
    • Technical development of aftermarket automotive parts and accessories.
    • Asia sourcing operation in managing work relationships between merchant/sourcing teams and overseas factories.
    • Manufacturing operation and understanding relevant manufacturing and quality systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and handle products that might be large and heavy in size.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee is occasionally required to wear safety gears and visit manufacturing lines with extreme heat, odor, air pollutants, and high noise level.
