Job Purpose

The Purchasing Specialist executes site specific Sourcing Strategy. The role includes purchase of goods, materials, and serivces to ensure site operational needs, taking into account sourcing strategy, price, quality, delivery to ensure continuity of supply and finish the assigned stegtic project. In addtion, assists in managing strategic suppliers‘ relationship and interfaces between internal customers and suppliers. This includes assisting in improving supplier quality and resolve elevated sourcing issues. This role reports to a Senior purchasing specilist as well as local Supply Chain.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure Raw Material Supply Availability
• Work with operations team on material purchasing plan to support production. Ensure continuous of material supply. Raise purchase order and follow up on the delivery schedule.
• Escalate material supply issue and work with supervisor on potential path forward.
• Provide material management data for review and feedback on potential improvement in material management process and planning.
• Execution of the ESI Category Sourcing Strategy at the Site Level:
• Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified sourcing strategy, cost, quality and deliver targets; assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.
• Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required
• Supply Base management:
• Manage site Suppliers
• Assist in negotiations with local suppliers
• Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
• Other functions:
• Interface with Site Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance to company guideline, purchasing policies, and Quality and EHS procedures
  

Qualifications

• Possess purchasing experience of 1-3 years and Chemical industry experience a plus
• Possess minimum diploma, with related experience; Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or related fields is a plus
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels.
• Negotiation skills and experience in establishing and maintaining influential relationships with suppliers is a plus
• Accomplished Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills. Experience with SAP a plus
