• Experience in development of manufacturing test software, including manufacturing test solutions for complex computing, storage, and networking products.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python).
• Experience in working test development with Contract Manufacturer, Original Device Manufacturer, and/or Joint Development Manufacturer partners.
• Experience generating product-specific test strategy, plans, and executing testing accordingly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Contract Manufacturers and peers in worldwide geographies.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver the custom-designed equipment that makes up Google’s computing infrastructure. As a Product Test Lead, you evaluate the product designs and create the manufacturing test processes, tools, and procedures behind Google’s search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you will ensure manufacturing test processes are repeatable and controlled.

You’ll collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. You will ensure the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end process design and manufacturing test methodology/strategy for each product. Create test plans and manage test development.
• Direct cross-functional product test discussions at the product team and/or execution level.
• Develop/oversee automated test scripts for functional test, software installation, and burn-in using Python.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and root-cause manufacturing yield issues and field escapes. Advance issues to closure with preventive measures.
• Design, build, and deploy test platforms for Google’s global manufacturing partners. Support Manufacturing Test Development for new and/or existing hardware designs.
