Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in testing or designing hardware products.
  • Experience in optics or display metrology.
  • Experience coding in one of the following languages: Python, MATLAB, or C/C++.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field, with an emphasis in optics or physics.
  • Experience in color science, image processing, and machine algorithm development.
  • Experience in hardware/software debug, failure analysis, hardware testing system bringup, and design validation.
  • Familiar with using and calibrating cameras, colorimeters, spectrometers, integrating spheres, and other optical instruments.
  • Demonstrate project management and leadership skills that ensure success in a multi-time zone and cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 25% of the time or when needed.

About The Job

As an Optics and Display Test Engineer, you will manage one of the key consumer satisfaction metrics. You will develop, manage, and oversee factory test stations from concept to mass production. In addition, you will use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better product design to promote proper engineering practices, and to manage improvements in relation to failure prevention, DFT (design for test), and other advanced quality concept strategies across products.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement factory test stations with a focus on display and/or optics.
  • Manage optics/display, test algorithms/scripts, review and statistically analyze yield, parametric data, GRR, correlation, and other associated quality metrics.
  • Make recommendations to manage design and test coverage improvement with minimal engineering engagement.
  • Work with contract manufacturing (CM), joint design manufacturing (JDM), original equipment manufacturers (OEM), original device manufacturers (ODM) partners and module suppliers, and ensure tests are implemented properly across different factories.
  • Make other organizational level contributions including general test framework improvements, data dashboard improvements, device factory image validation, and improvements.
