Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience coding with a general purpose programming language (i.e. C/C++, Java, Python).
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Carrier Lab (ex. VZW, TMOUS)/PTCRB/GCF AGPS/E911 certification.
• Experience with the GNSS stack/drivers/controllers, GNSS positioning algorithm, bus protocols (such as I2C, SPI, UART).
• Excellent GNSS software and hardware development background, familiarity with mainstream GNSS chipset platforms.
• Deep knowledge of A-GNSS/E911/LBS.
• Excellent GNSS/AGNSS problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

As a Firmware Engineer, you’ll work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our business grows and evolves. You will be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. You’ll develop the whole software stack for future smarter android devices. You will also help architect, develop, test and deploy complex embedded consumer devices.

Responsibilities

• Work with different chip vendors to develop and integrate features and protocols on Pixel devices.
• Design, implement, and optimize Android Location features.
• Design automated testing infrastructure.
• Address issues from system, stack, driver, firmware, or controller.
