Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in technical leadership.
• Programming experience in embedded domain (e.g., firmware, Linux kernel, Android).
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of direct technical leadership and people management experience.
• Experience building and shipping hardware products.
• Experience in drivers development (i.e. Linux/Android) for mobile chipset (e.g., QoS, Power, Thermal Management).
• Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
• A team player with excellent leadership, analytical, project management, and communication skills.

As an Engineering Manager, you will be managing part of a research and design software team developing high performance and low power hardware and software to enable Google’s continuous innovations in mobile image, vision, and AI processing.

In this role, you will lead the development of the software stack required to enable high performance applications in an Android and Linux environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and code reviews, as well as recruit, hire, and onboard a team of software engineers.
• Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
• Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects
• Cross-collaborate with other engineering teams (i.e., hardware, architecture, and software) to design appropriate interfaces between userspace, Linux kernel, firmware, and hardware.
• Directly contribute technically to projects.
