The TD will provide custom model design and technical guidance to both clients and Operational employees when necessary and feasible. The TD will promote and sell & Eurofins Discovery services and expand our client base while fostering strong client relationships.Essential Functions

• Member of Technical Director Team, who are responsible to be the subject matter expertise in specific therapeutic areas and/or technologies, which are the core service offerings in Pharmacology. Specifically, this position requires expertise in CNS/ Pain/Neurodegenerative Disease (ND) and development of in vitro and in vivo models. The Technical Director may cover specific therapeutic areas and/or technologies in addition to CNS/Pain/ND:
• Provide scientific, technical and consultative support to current and potential clients, in collaboration with our global technical team and our global field sales team. This will include interpretation and written and/or verbal summarization of client data, teleconferences and on-line presentations.
• Provide study design, proposals with pricing, and coordinate contract execution with Client Support and Business Development functionalities.
• Position is responsive to a global client-base. As such, off-hours availability is required to conduct business with clients in Europe, North America and Asia.
• Periodic international travel is required to prospective or current client companies to make presentations, interact with, and advise client’s or Eurofins Panlabs’ operational personnel, and attend relevant scientific meetings.
• Maintain current working knowledge of drug discovery and development processes and technologies, effectively advising and making recommendations regarding changes in pharmacology services, products, client support structures and processes.
• Works closely with Marketing and Business Development in the preparation of business plans for specific lines of service, including overall strategic aims as well as tactical components of the sales and marketing plan.
• Work closely with the assigned laboratory teams to guide, educate and train colleagues on the appropriate models.
• Contribute to pharmacology business growth initiatives, including development of new products and services, input to marketing plans and initiatives including website content and scientific marketing materials (e.g., White Papers, symposia presentations, etc.).
• Provide external perspective on portfolio management as it relates to operational alignment and coordination of individual service lines.
• Engage operations in ongoing assessment of the scientific/commercial relevance of service offerings.
• May be responsible for management in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; development and coaching of employees.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline and/or a minimum of ten years academic, and/or professional research experience is required. Experience in outsourcing of scientific experimentation, either as a client or provider is required. Knowledge of
• Discovery, Preclinical and Translational pharmaceutical development is required.
• Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills including:

The ability to write and review protocols and experimental reports as well as write and present scientific papers,The ability to effectively present and discuss Eurofins Panlabs models to clients and scientific peers via telephone, online presentations, or in person during client visits,The ability to learn sales and marketing support software, and enter data and reports in a Client Relationship Management (CRM) database, andThe ability to learn and utilize pricing tools.

• ideally have excellent bilingual English and Chinese capabilities (written & spoken)
• Specific background in CNS/Pain/ND research, as well as a proven research publication record is highly desirable, as is knowledge of other therapeutic areas, such as inflammatory pain, immune-oncology, or anti-infective (bacterial and fungal) research.

This is both a client-facing and operations-facing position.
