• Experience with Cadence Concept HDL and Allegro PCB Editor.

• Experience with footprint generators such as Cadence ECAD/MCAD Library Creator, PCB Footprint Expert or LP Wizard.
• Experience in using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and part numbering.
• Strong communication skills and experience in working with cross-functional teams.

As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of the world’s largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. Your work has the potential to shape the machinery that goes into our cutting-edge data centers affecting millions of Google users.

With your technical expertise, you lead projects in multiple areas of expertise (i.e., engineering domains or systems) within a data center facility, including construction and equipment installation/troubleshooting/debugging with vendors.

As a CAD (Computer Aided Design)/PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Librarian, you’ll support internal hardware engineering teams with component library creation of PCB footprint, schematic symbols, and mechanical symbols. You will ensure that component footprints are inline with DFM requirements for mass production. You will maintain and optimize Google library management processes including research and development of new processes and workflows that will increase productivity and ensure quality of part releases.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. Responsibilities

• Process PCB Library requests from Google’s internal product lifecycle management (PLM) system.
• Create schematic symbols based on datasheets, reference symbols or as required by Hardware Engineers.
• Create component footprints that are in accordance with IPC or Google specifications.
• Review and release footprints to Google’s internal PCB Library database.
