Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in Computer-aided Design (CAD) or Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design.
• 5 years of experience working with Cadence PCB Design tools and Allegro Constraints Manager tools.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with high-speed and radio frequency (RF) board designs or layouts.
• Experience with DFM tools (e.g., Valor, CAM350, and Fab3000) and Allegro skill scripting.
• Familiarity with high density ball-grid array (BGA) and blind and buried vias.
• Familiarity with all phases of hardware development, including schematic entry, manually generated constraints, requirements of constraints, and board layout.

Our Devices and Services team combines Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create helpful experiences for users. Our Hardware team works to make people’s lives better through technology. We also research, design, and develop technologies and hardware to make our user’s interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful.

As a CAD Design Engineer, you will develop devices and services for our users. You will also work to find ways to capture and sense the world around us by advancing form factors or improving interaction methods.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to set up the mechanical outline, stackup, and constraints of the board.
• Execute component placement and routing of boards and flexible printed circuits (FPC). Participate in design reviews by providing expert recommendations.
• Interface with vendors to select and use correct impedance rules, including design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for testability (DFT) rulesets.
• Generate manufacturing files and address any internal or external DFM feedback. Work with Hardware Engineers, PCB Designers, Mechanical Designers, and vendors for the development and sustaining of products.
