JR43265 A/T SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER (Wafer Preparation Materials)

As the Engineer of Supplier Quality Engineering team, you will enable outstanding supplier quality performance by establishing and maintaining close healthy relationships with critical suppliers’ management teams and internal Micron partners to meet the business needs of Micron. You will be responsible to ensure consistent management, deployment of quality requirements, supplier quality governance processes for the supplier base, and drive critical suppliers’ improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Suppliers deliver the highest possible quality material to Micron
• Ensure Suppliers comply to QMS (Quality Management System) requirements, Material Standards, STC (Ship To Control) and other quality safeguard programs that Micron fan-out
• Ensure Suppliers have continuous improvement programs toward process stability, adaptability, and margin improvement
• Shift left quality mentality with comprehensive in-line process control and monitoring approach to eliminate any escape defects going to Micron Wafer Fabs
• Identify supplier risk level, and then further mitigate risk to ensure low to zero risk to Micron
• Enable supplier quality as material technical expert
• Enable linkage between supplier and Micron internal team (IQC, Engineering and operation) to ensure clear communication
• Partner with procurement and engineering to enable supplier capability and capacity to support Micron
• Serves as a subject matter expert within the supplier process area
• Defines and leads supplier-related projects across multi-functional teams/high technical complexity in Micron that impacts metrics.
• Handle conflict and establish effective relationships partners
• Initiate and sustain effective communication with internal and external partners on highly complex information
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in dealing with external parties is helpful
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Identifying root causes for failures using data, electrical and physical analysis techniques. Also using these techniques to modify existing strategies to improve quality.
• The ability to multitask responsibilities while staying aware of key priority items
• Strong verbal and written in both Mandarin and English.
• Strong engineering background, familiar with tools like APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, 8D
• A certain depth of understanding on ISO 9001 requirement and IATF 16949 is helpful.
• Have strong work ethics, and willing to work under pressure, self-managed and independent.
• Capable of Domestic/international travel frequently or adhoc basis for supplier audit, visit and other business needs.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s/Masters/Ph.D in Engineering (Materials/Electrical or relevant Engineering discipline) with more than 3 years’ experience.
• Experience in Fab process- Process or Equipment or PIE is preferred.
• Exposure to Product life cycle from NPI to HVM is preferred
• Background in Assembly & Test process & materials knowledge is a plus
• Data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills a plus
• Project Management and Business Process Improvement skills a plus
